This is a preliminary design to be applied to a decorative pole. For a theme of "Celebrating Community Vibrancy", I choose to honour Toronto's music community. The 14" x 42" design encodes randomly selected names from a list of 500+ musical groups past and present. If I am selected for the project, the design will be painted, wrapped around a pole in Toronto's Mount Pleasant Village.
Because of a limited time frame to execute the actual painting, I have chosen colours that can be applied right out of the tube – though I am considering substituting in gold and silver metallics for the yellow and orange.
