If you’re old enough, the phrase ‘and they told two friends… and so on  and so on’ is just part of your lexicon — the irony of a TV ad using the idea of word of mouth, along with the visual of exponential growth made it a very sticky idea.  That 1980’s ad for Fabrage Organics™ shampoo is the source for this piece.

I thought I was aiming for a piece portraying a network of spheres connected with wires,  but as this emerged,  I realized that it captured how I feel about the constant bombardment of advertising,  the clutter it engenders, and how it can stick in your head for, well, decades.
